The display needs to be at least 760 × 480 points, the smallest size of the main window. With a 115-song songbook open, Strunka used about 220 MB of memory (measured on Linux).
Optional, for the features that use them
- Audio output (metronome, reference tone, piano, ear training, song recordings, clip pad, MIDI file playback) and a microphone (tuner). On Linux through ALSA (libasound2; PipeWire and PulseAudio work through their ALSA plugins).
- MIDI: Core MIDI on macOS, Windows MIDI, and the ALSA sequencer on Linux (access to /dev/snd/seq, usually the audio group).
- A second display or projector for the projector window.
- A phone or tablet on the same network for the remote control (any current browser).
- Linux desktop services: the XDG desktop portal (xdg-desktop-portal with a GTK, GNOME or KDE backend) for the open and save dialogs, and a Secret Service (GNOME Keyring or KWallet) to store the cloud sync sign-in; without one the sign-in is kept in a file readable only by you.
- A SoundFont (.sf2, for example a free General MIDI one) to play MIDI files through the built-in synthesizer.
- Internet access only for the update check, and for cloud sync if you turn it on. Everything else works offline.
